Biography

Murielle White was born and raised in Paris, France. She moved to Tampa, Florida where she graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Florida with a BFA in Studio Art in 2006. During the summer of that same year, she traveled with the University of West Virginia to China to study traditional Chinese landscape painting at the Nanjing Art Institute, where she participated in her first international group show. In 2007, she moved to the Dallas/Ft.Worth metroplex and received her MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of North Texas in 2010. Murielle was a faculty member at the University of North Texas where she taught Painting from 2010 to 2018. She has had solo exhibitions at the Dallas Contemporary, at Cris Worley Fine Art in Dallas, at McMurtrey Gallery in Houston and at Stella Jones Gallery in New Orleans. In 2016, she was commissioned to create a 4-foot by 92-foot mural for the new Student Union building on the campus of the University of North Texas. In 2019, Murielle moved back to Europe. She now works from her studio in Naples, Italy. The primary focus of her work is an ongoing thoughtful exploration and articulation of the unique landscape that surrounds her in the Campagna region where she resides.
